چکیده

2014 A SQUID magnetometer has been shown to work at 10 GHz with a significant enhancement of signal-to-noise over 30 MHz devices. This article describes how such enhancement could lead to faster determinations of absolute temperature using a resistive SQUID, i. e., a noise thermometer. A prototype 10 GHz resistive SQUID is described and its performance evaluated. The feasibility of using a 10 GHz system is clearly established. REVUE DE PHYSIQUE APPLIQUÉE TOME 9, JANVIER 1974, PAGE

Measuring the Accuracy of MARSS—An Airborne Microwave Radiometer

An airborne microwave radiometer has been thoroughly characterized by the Met Office, using a thermalvacuum test facility and flight test data. Scan dependence due to mirror reflectivity considerations, as well as calibration target thermometry, target thermal gradients, radiometer noise, and radiometer stability are quantified. A resultant accuracy of approximately 1 K is achieved.

Analog computation of heterodyning with a voltage-biased Josephson point-contact

2014 A system consisting of two resonant circuits coupled inductively with a resistive SQUID was investigated using an analog computer. Here it is reported on several results of special interest for microwave receiver application, namely spectra of heterodyning products, frequency shifting and operation at zero input. Design and performance of the ADMX SQUID-based microwave receiver

The Axion Dark Matter eXperiment (ADMX) was designed to detect ultra-weakly interacting relic axion particles by searching for their conversion to microwave photons in a resonant cavity positioned in a strong magnetic field. Given the extremely low expected axion–photon conversion power we have designed, built and operated a microwave receiver based on a Superconducting QUantum Interference Dev...

Infrared Thermopile Temperature Measurement Technique in Microwave Heating Systems

Temperature measurement in microwave systems is essential for thermally driven processes, namely, catalytic reactions and ceramic sintering. Although, the application of direct thermometry methods, namely, thermocouples, have been commonly articulated in the available literature, however, contacted temperature measurement mechanisms have aroused concerns associated with the disruption of the el...
